Web Animation Watch: Home, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and more!

The internet and the proliferation of software such as Flash has truly democratised the world of animation. The world of web animation is a fast moving and exciting field that has brought to light some serious talent. But with so much stuff out there how do you know what to watch? You know the drill.. Welcome to Web Animation Watch!

You may seen the work of Kreid on WAW before through his work for Weebl's Stuff. His own work is quite different though, as seen it the rather lovely short Home, which has just appeared on his own Youtube channel. Originally produced as his final piece for university, it's a charming story of the meeting between a scientist and some particularly adorable extra-terrestrials.

The Bizarre and brilliant cartoon adventures of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un continue in this fantastic short from the sharp minds at College Humor. (Parts 1 & 2)

Featured on Channel Frederator is the first episode of Wizbird, a new series from Carl Doonan that has a loveable style all of its own.

Web-animation-maestro Weebl continues to reliably pump out hit after hit on his Youtube Channel(s). However, we're always particularly fond of his musical 'toons, which combine catchy numbers that stick in you head with animation from some of the finest web animators around.  This latest about legendary Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel is typically excellent.. and it's educational- well... sort of. Bonus points for the inclusion of Stove-Pipe hats and the word rapscallion. Kudos. Animated by Ockeroid.
