Fan-Made Pixel-Art 'The Simpsons' Intro to Introduce The Show On TV For Real.

It's the kind of stuff dreams are made of. But this is real life, and a pair of independent animators are about to get their tribute aired on the U.S.'s longest-running animated sitcom. The brilliant short, which recreates the show's iconic intro in a retro pixel-art style, is the work of Aussies Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon.

Uploaded on the first of February, it quickly went viral being picked up on by sites across the internet, promptly passing one million views in under two days. In doing so it caught the attention of the production team of The Simpsons themselves. The producers got in touch with the pair from Melbourne and told them they wanted to use the intro on the next episode of the show. They were pretty keen too- they got in touch just twelve hours after the video was uploaded.

The talented pair are experienced in animation with Robertson having worked on award-winning series Gravity Falls and Dixon half of the animation studio Rubberhouse. Simpsons Pixels, however, is their first collaboration together. Not bad for a first try, eh?

The intro will air before the next episode of The Simpsons due to air in the U.S.A. on FOX on February 15th 2015. Watch the video below!
