'The Little Prince', 'Dragons: Race To The Edge' Season 3 Hit Netflix This Summer

The World's number one premium streaming platform, Netflix, has been talking up its offerings for the coming months. There's a number of interesting animation prospects coming up.  First up, June 10th will see the arrival of the first season of the eagerly awaited Voltron Legendary Defender for DreamWorks Animation.  New episodes of Dragons: Race To The Edge début on June 24th, when the third season will land. Both will be available to Netflix subscribers worldwide.

The big news here though is that we now know when to expect The Little Prince to be available to stream- in the US at least. You may recall that Mark Osborne's adaptation of the classic children's book was unceremoniously dumped just ahead of its American release earlier this year, and Netflix stepped in to save the day. We now know that it will be available to customers in the United States sometime in August. The exact date, however, is to be confirmed.

The CG/stop-motion hybrid was extremely popular in its native France, and has received acclaimed everywhere it has played so far. No doubt it's a shame that Stateside audiences won't get the chance to see it on the big screen, but at least they will be getting to see it in some form. It's not yet clear if an when it will be available to subscribers outside the US.

From September a deal between Disney and Netflix will come into effect, making the service the exclusive pay TV home in the US for "the latest films from Disney, Marvel, LucasFilm and Pixar." In other words, if you want to see the Newest Pixar and Disney films from now on, you're going to need a Netflix subscription.
