Disney's New 'Moana' TV Spot Revealed

Anticipation for Disney's forthcoming Moana continues to grow with every new trailer or image that is released. The Studio has slowly piece by piece been gradually revealing more, but it's pretty clear that we have so far only scratched the surface. We've got the chance to see quite a bit more though thanks to a release of a new US TV spot.

Made to run during the Olympics, this latest spot runs for just a single minute. Yet in those sixty seconds, we get possibly our best idea yet of how the final film is likely to turn out.

Crucially, the teaser gives us our first look at the relationship between the title character and Dwayne Johnson's demigod Maui. Based on this first clip it's looking like it's going to be an awful lot of fun. Moana herself is looking spunky and spirited, while Maui -just as the first teaser hinted- looks to be very much his own biggest fan. His confidence doesn't seem to be entirely unfounded though, as he is revealed to be a shapeshifter, with the ability to turn into a bird.  Moana- voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho- certainly looks to be very much his equal though, even if her skills are more down to Earth. It's clear the film will get a lot of entertainment out of the unlikely relationship between these two.

Elsewhere the visuals continue to wow, with the lush tropical location making jaws drop. We get to see -however briefly- some of the characters introduced in the recent character posters, including 'village idiot' rooster Heihei and the mini pirates the Kakamora. And we haven't even mentioned the fearsome Lava monster...

Moana is directed by Disney legends Ron Clements and John Musker and will be released in cinemas in North America on November 23rd, with the UK release following December 2nd.
