'Incredibles 2' First Teaser Trailer Arrives

People have been crying out for a sequel to 2004's Pixar classic The Incredibles for so long, it feels kind of strange that it's nearly here. Incredibles 2 (notice that the official title seems to be missing the definite article) will finally arrive next summer, and the first teaser trailer is here.

And a teaser it certainly is- in fact, it feels like something of a throwback to Pixar's teasers of old. Who could forget that original teaser for the original, where Bob Parr (aka Mr Incredible) struggled to fit into his super suit? This new teaser is very much in the same tradition and primarily features baby Jack-Jack using his recently uncovered superpowers. Other than a very brief appearance from Bob and a logo reveal that's all we get.

It doesn't reveal anything much about the plot, but we can get a better idea about that from the official synopsis, released alongside the teaser.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

The sequel will again be written and directed by Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, Ratatouille). It will hit cinemas in the US on June 15, 2018, and in the UK on July 13. A brand new poster was also released which you can check out, below!
