More 'Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie' Details Confirmed

For fans of 90s Nicktoon Hey Arnold, it's been a long wait to see the series get the true ending they believe it deserves. Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie is finally happening as a two-part TV movie in 2017, and now Nickelodeon have confirmed some more details. Firstly, despite some pretty strong indications from creator Craig Bartlett, the network had not actually confirmed the official title until now.

It's also been announced that much of the original voice actors will be returning, including Francesca Marie Smith as Helga, Anndi McAfee as Phoebe, Tress MacNeille as Grandma and Dan Castellaneta as Grandpa. With nearly two decades having passed since the show began, the boys who played Arnold and Gerald are now grown-ups and unfortunately no longer able to reprise their roles.

Mason Vale Cotton will take over as Arnold, while Benjamin Flores Jr. will play Gerald. Arnold and Gerald's original actors -Lane Toran and Jamil Smith- are set to return in other roles however. The villain of the piece- dastardly river pirate Lasombra,- will be played by Alfred Molina.

Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie is set to reveal the long-standing mystery about the whereabouts of Arnold's parents, and tie up other loose ends set up in the original series finale The Journal. Bartlett always intended to round it out with a feature, but it was scrapped in favour of the standalone Hey Arnold The Movie.

Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie will air in 2017.
