Tomm Moore Invites You To The European Animation Awards

ASIFA-East's annual Annie Awards are a great way of recognising achievement in animation. However, they are also very American-centric, with non-US-made animation often overlooked. Although this has improved over recent years, there's still a heavy American bias to the event.

This December will see the first iteration of the Emile Awards (European Animation Awards), which have been established to specifically recognise excellence in European Animation.Submissions are now open, and to celebrate the fact, Ireland's Cartoon Saloon created a short video promoting the awards. It features Song Of The Sea director Tomm Moore inviting everyone in European animation to get involved. The fun part is that the video cycles through various different animation styles as various Cartoon Salooners take turns to animate Tomm. Check out the video below.



The ceremony will take place on December 8 in Lille, France. Entries will close on September 15, 2017. The full list of categories follows:
