Manchester Animation Festival Tickets Now On Sale

Manchester Animation Festival returns to HOME for a third year from November 14-16, and this year's line-up has now been revealed. Across a packed three days, the event will feature preview screenings, talks, masterclasses and more for animation aficionados and general audiences alike.

Screening in the festival will be Nora Twomey's The Breadwinner (some time ahead of the UK cinema release next May) The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales, Loving Vincent and Tehran Taboo.
Masterclasses will feature The Breadwinner's Techincal Director  Mark Mullery, Aardman animator Will Belcher and the directors of Loving Vincent.

Panels will include a look at how Brexit will impact the UK animation industry, a profile of the works of Ivor Wood and How To Make It In Manchester.

Awards ceremonies will take place both for Short Films and for Industry Excellence, recognising "excellence in scriptwriting, storyboarding, character design and character animation." This year's fellowship is being awarded to Josh Weinstein who has worked on The Simpsons, Danger Mouse, and Strange Hill High and is currently involved with Matt Groening's new Netflix series Disenchantment.

On the Sunday before the festival, a Family Day will be held in association with the BBC. It will feature some free screenings for families, along with a package of shorts for children and a preview screening of The Big Bad Fox And Other Tales.
