Ghost In The Shell Arise Trailer Released

Ghost In The Shell in one of the biggest sci-fi franchises in anime. The original 1995 movie (based on Masamune Shirow's manga) is considered one of the undisputed classics of cyberpunk, and if anything the later Stand Alone Complex TV series is even better. The latest incarnation of the series Ghost In The Shell: Arise is, therefore, a hotly anticipated release- to put it mildly. This time around though, it's not a movie or TV series but an OAV (Original Animation Video) although each of the 50-minute episodes have had limited cinema showings in Japan.

Ahead of the November UK release, Manga Entertainment have posted the UK trailer for the prequel series. Longtime fans of the English version of the franchise have been upset with US dubbers Funimation for not having brought back Michael Epcar as the voice of Batou, a role he has been associated with for nearly 20 years. Whatever you might think of the new cast, the series itself looks pretty awesome, with the series brought bang-up-to-date with the latest animation techniques from the always impressive Production I.G.
