Diskotek Releasing 'Lupin III Part IV', Reveal English Trailer

Easily one of the most acclaimed anime series of recent years- in certain quarters at least- was the long-awaited return of the legendary Lupin III. The gentleman thief burst back on to screens on screen in his first proper series since the 80's in the 2015 Italian co-production Lupin III Part IV.

The series took some time to reach English language streaming services, before finally arriving on Crunchyroll months after its original debut. Intriguingly though, voice actor and director Richard Epcar revealed some time ago he was directing an English dub of the series. The only question was.. who for?

British label Anime Limited got in their first, announcing they will be releasing the series on Blu-ray and DVD in the United Kingdom.

We now know that it will be released in the United States by Diskotek Media. Not the biggest surprise in that the label has been working their way through the Lupin catalogue (the first boxset of part II is due out in December). but they have not been in the habit of commissioning dubs before.

The new dub will reunite the majority of the cast who produced the Geneon dub of part of part II screened on Adult Swim in the mid-noughties.Epcar reprises the role of Jigen, Tony Oliver returns as Lupin himself, and Michelle Ruff returns as Fujiko.

The series will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in 2017. Exact release window and formats are to be confirmed.

You can get your first look at the dub in this little teaser Diskotek released to mark the occasion- check it out below!
