'My Entire High School Sinking Into The Sea' Trailer Splashes In

My Entire High School Sinking Into The Sea promises to be one of the year's most distinctive animated features. Crashing a High School movie into the plot of a disaster movie, this debut feature from indie cartoonist Dash Shaw has generated a lot of buzz on the festival circuit. And thanks to GKIDS Films, it will be coming to a wider audience this spring.

It features an impressive voice cast headed by Jason Schwartzman, Reggie Watts, and Lena Dunham, and is made in a unique mixed-media/collage technique that makes it stand out both in style and substance. Such a quirky film isn't going to be for everyone, but we can see this developing a healthy cult following at the very least.

The freshly released first trailer gives you a pretty good idea of whether this is going to appeal to you or not. It gives you a taste of both the style of humour and the animation itself.  If you're a fan of more quirky indie cinema (or indie comics) then we think this is going to be right up your alley.

GKIDS  will release the film in cinemas in the United States and Canada from April 14th. More details and screening venues will be announced at a later date. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments or via our social media channels.
