Charming 'Big Bad Fox And Other Tales' English Trailer Arrives

The feature animation that has emerged from France in recent years has been wonderfully varied. From the ripping yarn of April and The Extraordinary World to glossy CG fantasy Mune, to the dark, sophisticated adult fairytale The Girl Without Hands, there's something for everyone.  In the more family-friendly arena though was 2012's delightful, Oscar- nominated Ernest & Celestine from directors Benjamin Renner, Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier.

Now Renner is back with a new similarly styled family film, this time directing alongside Patrick Imbert (who was animation director on Ernest & Celestine). The Big Bad Fox & Other Tales (Le Grand Méchant Renard et Autres Contes) was released in French cinemas back on June 21, and now an English-subtitled trailer has arrived courtesy of UniFrance.

Based on a graphic novel (also from Renner), it has a gorgeous, hand-drawn look that appears as if it could have stepped straight off the comic's pages. The title hints that the film is episodic in nature, eschewing a single storyline for a series of simple vignettes based around the titular fox and other countryside critters). It looks, quite frankly, adorable, and we hope for an English language release soon.

We've seen footage before (from the Cartoon Movie conference) but now that we actually know what the characters are saying, it's all the better. Check out the trailer for yourself, below.
