Web Animation Watch: "No Monsters", "Honor and Glory" and More!

The Internet has been a wonderful thing for animators, making it easier than ever before for them to get their stuff out there. But in this new wild frontier how are you supposed to know where to find the good stuff? Here at AFA's Web Animation Watch, we try to make that a little easier, bringing you the best in online animation, new and old.

Have you produced something that you think we could feature in a future iteration? Or just found something you think we should take a look at? Drop us a line today!

No Monsters

The best shorts often manage to create an entire world on screen in a short space of time. That's just what No Monsters, an animated short from David James Arnsby, does. Employing a beautifully rendered monochrome style, it conjures up a seriously creepy dystopian world with a slightly retro feel. Made a sequel to this but it works just as well (if not better) as a standalone.

Overwatch: Honor and Glory

Games studio Blizzard keeps surprising us with more of their wonderful shorts tied into their best-selling game Overwatch. Each short has put the focus on a different character, and this time we meet Reinhardt. Even those of us on Team AFA who don't play the game have been big fans of these shorts... and would love to see Blizzard put out more animation!

Mjolnir Mischief!

The Funko Pops collectables are hugely popular. But did you know that Funko had teamed up with Marvel to make a series of animated shorts? They feature all your favourite Marvel characters in Funko form, and this episode was released to tie in with the smash hit Thor Ragnorok, and features Thor and Loki.

How It Should Have Ended: Villain Pub

Some of the best stuff produced by How It Should Have Ended is actually not the stuff which features the alternative endings for which they made their name. Instead, it's often sections like the Superhero Cafe where they seem to be having most fun. In a similar vein, the Villain Pub features a pub where lots of the bad guys from your favourite films go to drown their sorrows. It comes complete with a great Cheers parody theme song! Check out all the latest episode above, or all the episodes so far here (but beware spoilers).
