Manga UK Bring 'Okko's Inn' To UK Cinemas July 14

There have been more chances for anime fans in the UK to catch Japanese animation on the big screen over the last few years than ever before. After a particularly packed 2018, this year has been much quieter, with only Dragon Ball Super: Broly getting a release so far. Manga Entertainment have now announced that Okko's Inn will be getting a limited cinema release as well.

Okko's Inn is a family friendly feature from acclaimed studio Madhouse (Paprika, Wolf Children) and directed by Kitaro Kosaka, an animator on Spirited Away, Castle In The Sky, Akira and many other anime classics.

Based on a series of novels, it sees young Okko moving to live in her grandmother's rural Inn after the death of her parents. She's surprised to learn that it's full of friendly spirits- that only she can see!

The film was released in the US earlier this year via GKIDS Films and will come to UK cinemas for one day only on July 14. The release is limited to Showcase cinemas (plus London's Prince Charles Cinema) and will be screening in English dubbed format. Ticket holders will receive a free postcard featuring character artwork- while stocks last.
