SyFY Greenlights 'Devil May Care' And 3 Animated Pilots

SyFy- the network once known as the Sci-Fi Channel- is probably not somewhere you think of as a source for new animation. However, their TZGZ late-night block is dedicated to adult animation, showing both acquired programs like Harley Quinn and Gary and His Demons,  as well as exclusive new series and has been running since 2019.

The network has now ordered a brand new series and four new pilots. Devil May Care is the second internally developed pilot to be ordered to series, with TZGZ picking up seven 15 minute episodes. The series is created by Douglas Goldstein, head writer of Robot Chicken and a producer on The Simpsons and produced by Titmouse.

The series sees the Devil try to rebrand hell by hiring a social media coordinator and features the voices of Alan Tudyk and Asif Ali, with Pamela Adlon, Stephanie Beatriz and Fred Tatasciore.

SyFy has also ordered three additional 15-minute pilots from several adult animation veterans:

Chronicles of Frank features an overzealous squirrel who kidnaps an exterminator from the Bronx and sends him to a magical world. The pilot comes from Shadow Machine (BoJack Horseman, Final Space) and is created by Trip Tank's Chris Osbrink.

The Black Hole takes place in a sci-fi world full of warring alien species and focuses on the dive-bar where they drink. It comes from Morel Orel creator Dino Stamatopoulos and is produced by StarBurns Industries (Anomalisa, Rick and Morty).

From Yeti Farm Creative comes The Pole "a twisted, edgy comedy about the struggle for power on the North Pole" created by Matthew Bass and Theodore Bressman (writers of Hulu series Future Man). Yeti Farm previously produced season two of Hotel Transylvania: The Series and Pete The Cat.

TZGZ airs around midnight on Saturdays on SyFy USA.
