New Marvel Adult Animated Comedy 'Hit Monkey' Gets A Trailer

In early 2019, it was announced that four new Marvel animated series were in development for Hulu. Based around some of the comics company's more odd characters, they were being adapted as adult comedies. Eventually, the four series were even set to cross over in a special called The Offenders.

It seems unlikely that team-up will ever materialise, as two of the series, Kevin Smith's Howard The Duck and Tigra and Dazzler have been scrapped. Earlier this year, the first series actually arrived with MODOK. It has emerged that the second of the series is also arriving before the year is out. And it stars a murderous macaque by the name of Hit Monkey.

Just as the name indicates, Hit Monkey is a monkey that kills people. Specifically, he kills assassins, seeking vengeance on the humans who murdered his clan.

The series is going to be quite distinct from MODOK. Not only in terms of its animation style (this is 2D as opposed to MODODK's stop-motion) but also in content. MODOK was essentially a supervillain sitcom, but this is going to be an action parody with plenty of gory violence.

Hit Monkey is written by Josh Gordon and Will Speck and will star the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Munn, Ally Maki, Nobi Nakanishi, George Takei and Fred Tatasciore. In the US, all 10 episodes will arrive at once on November 17.  Although unconfirmed, we would expect it to stream on Disney Plus via Star in the UK and other countries, with episodes arriving weekly.
