Trigger's 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' Trailer Arrives

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077
was easily one of the most eagerly awaited video games of the past few years. Which only went on to make its botched launch in 2020 more disappointing. Hopefully, the game's painful birth shouldn't have any negative impact on the upcoming anime tie-in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Produced by Trigger in association with CD Projekt Red, the series will take place in the world of Night City first introduced in the game. However, the series is a fully standalone story, so it won't matter if you haven't played the game. The 10-episode series will follow a street kid who becomes an Edgerunner ( a mercenary outlaw also known as a Cyberpunk) in order to survive.

Fresh from premiering the first episode at last weekend's Otakon, the trailer has been released online. Based on what we see here Edgrunners looks to be full of Trigger's trademark stylish and kinetic animation and vibrant visuals. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill La Kill, Promare) is the director, RafaÅ‚ Jaki is the showrunner and the script comes from Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko OtsukaYoh Yoshinari is the character designer and animation director.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners comes to Netflix this September.
