HIDIVE Bring North American Premiere Of 'HELCK' to Anime Expo

As the anime convention season rolls on, we approach one of its biggest- Anime Expo. Held in Los Angeles every July 4th weekend, the event always hosts the biggest names in anime. Streaming service HIDIVE have announced that as part of this year's offering, they will host the North American Premiere of the upcoming anime series HELCK.

In partnership with Nippon TV they will present the screening of episodes one and two. The series will screen in Japanese with English subtitles and the screening will take place on Saturday, July 1 in the Platinum Ballroom at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles.

HIDIVE announced its acquisition of HELCK earlier this year. The series is based on the popular shonen manga written and illustrated by Nanaki Nanao. The action fantasy series will debut after Anime Expo as part of HIDIVE's summer simulcast lineup.

The series is directed by Tatsuo Sato and written by Toshizo Nemoto and Mitsutaka Hirota, with animation production by Satelight Inc. The Japanese voice cast features Katsuyuki Konishi as Helck, Mikako Komatsu as Vermilio, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Azudra, Akira Ishida as Hon, and Shiki Aoki as Asta.

HELCK is set in a demon world where the Demon King has recently been defeated by a hero. A competition is held to find the new Demon King. An unlikely entrant into the competition is human hero Helck, much to the chagrin of The Imperial Four Heavenly Kings Vermilio, who is in charge of the tournament.  After hearing news of the fall of the castle of Urum before the final, Vermilo leads a band of finalists... including Helck. But where do his loyalties really lie?

"We are thrilled to present the North American premiere of HELCK in partnership with Nippon TV," said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. "We’re committed to creating exceptional fan experiences and we can't wait to share the first two episodes of this exciting new series with attendees at this year’s Anime Expo. Shonen fans will not want to miss this special HELCK premiere!"
