'My Adventures With Superman' Lands On July 6

Superman
has a long history in animation- stretching all the way back to the Max Fleischer directed shorts in the 1940s. Although he's starred in several recent DC animated movies, it's been a minute since the Man Of Steel has had an animated series to call his own. Enter My Adventures With Superman.

The new series takes on the Superman mythos and retells it as a serialised coming-of-age story. It focuses on twenty-something versions of Clark Kent/Superman, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson. Over time they begin to discover who they are and what they can achieve together as an investigative reporting team at The Daily Planet. It follows Clark as he builds up his secret identity and delves into his mysterious origins. Meanwhile; Lois teams up with photographer Jimmy to break the stories that matter. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love... and Lois is getting ever closer to uncovering his secret.

The new trailer gives us a good idea of what to expect, with a fun and breezy tone. Clark is trying to get used to balancing his everyday existence with that of the protector of Metropolis. Lois is on the rise as an up-and-coming reporter. And Jimmy just seems to be along for the ride. The trailer features the blend of superheroics and relationship drama that we expect from the finished show. No sign of Lex Luther or any of Superman's rogues gallery as yet though.

The series is produced by Warner Bros Animation and DC and is created by Jake Wyatt. Sam Register is executive producer and Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher are co-executive producers. Josie Campbell is co-producer.  It stars the voices of Jack Quaid as Clark/Superman, Alice Lee as Lois and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy.

My Adventures With Superman debuts on Adult Swim with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, July 6 at midnight, with one episode airing every Thursday after that. There will be encore screenings of each episode every Friday at 7.00 PM and Saturdays at Midnight on Toonami. Episodes will also stream on Max on Fridays.
