Light Chaser Studios' 'Chang' An' Coming to UK and Irish Cinemas This February

The Chinese animation industry is going from strength to strength. Studios in the middle kingdom are producing films able to compete with anything the United States or Japan can put out. One of the studios leading the charge is the acclaimed Light Chaser Studios, producer of White Snake and Green Snake. Their latest feature is coming to cinemas in the United Kingdom and Ireland this February, courtesy of Dazzler Media.

Chang' An takes us back to the Tang Dynasty, and showcases the life of two poets:  Li Bai and Du Fu. The pair have contrasting personalities- Li's firey passion and Fu's quiet resilience collide in the vibrant city of Chang' An, where art, power and ambition intertwine.

As political intrigue and personal challenges unfold, the film explores the complexities of genius, friendship, and the quest for legacy. With Light Chaser's trademark impressive visuals and a haunting score, the film explores a time when poetry was rebellion, and every moment held promise, a celebration of art, culture and the indomitable human spirit.

Chang' An is directed by Junwei Xie and Jing Zou, and written by Gary Wang. It features the voices of Yang Tianxiang, Ling Zhenhe, Wu Junquan, Xuan Xiaoming and Ya Jie. The screenings will be in Mandarin language with English subtitles.

Chang' An arrives in UK and Irish cinemas from February 28, 2025.
