Annecy Initial Selection Revealed



Summer may feel like it's still a way off, but it'll be here before you know it. And with summer comes one of the biggest events of the animation calendar: The Annecy International Animation Film Festival. For one week in June, the French town becomes the centre of the animation world, as the cream of animation talent from around the globe come to town.

Ahead of the announcement of the full festival line-up, Annecy gradually reveals the Official selection. The short films were unveiled on March 17 and the Graduation (Student) Films were due to be revealed on March 20 but do not appear to be currently available. The TV and Commissioned films, VR works and Feature Film selections are to be unveiled at a later date.

For the 2025 edition, Annecy Festival received more than 3,900 films from one hundred countries. The short films were divided into the Official Selection, Off Limits, Perspectives and Young Audiences. Films were selected from dozens of countries including France, Japan, The United States, The United Kingdom, Mexico, Ireland, Poland, Croatia, Chile, Uruguay, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran, South Korea and India.

This year's festival will run from June 8 until June 14.
