Igloo Animation Reveals New Irish Animation 'HOLT'
The Irish animation industry continues to go from strength to strength. Relative to its size, The Emerald Isle has a more than healthy scene that can hold its own against its nearest rivals across the Irish Sea. Irish animation studio Igloo Animations has announced brand new fantasy adventure series Holt, that will premiere on Irish TV this April.
Aimed at audiences 8+ (but is set to appeal to older animation lovers too) the series is backed by Screen Ireland, RTÉ, and Coimisiún na Meán. The 26-episode series is "bursting with monsters, magic, and intergalactic mayhem".
The series features Roo, Umba and Metric, three classmates from the planet Eire, who barely know each other but are thrown together following a freak accident on a school trip. They crash on Fomoire, a long-forgotten, ancient prison planet teeming with terrifying creatures, hidden secrets, and untold dangers. Just when it seems all hope is lost, they encounter Jeannie, a mysterious prism, who grants them the ability to merge into one all powerful superbeing HOLT. But there's a catch... the fusion only lasts a few minutes before they fall apart again. Not the ideal situation when you're fighting terrifying monsters.
When a dark force called The Blight threatens to consume the universe, our heroes must survive Fomoire, uncover its hidden mysteries and rally allies to save their home. Because if they ever hope to return to Planet Eire, first they must save the Universe. No pressure!
The series is created at Igloo Animations, the studio behind the acclaimed Tales from Dun DraÃochta and Fantasy Ireland. Holt is set to be a visually stunning, action-packed series that showcases Ireland's world class animation industry.

Holt will air from April 7, 2025 on RTÉ2 & RTÉ Kids from 15:55. What's more, the series will be airing as double-bill episodes so audiences will get double the action and adventure in every showing.
Holt is co-produced with Digitoonz, India. The series is created by Trevor Courtney, and is produced by Courtney, Vikas Kumar, and Suzanne Kelly. It's written by Courtney, Danny Stack, Maria O' Loughlin, Sinead Fagan, and Justin Carr, with music by Paul Dowling. Courtney directs the show along with Julie Rush. It features the voices of Catriona Ennis, Sam McGovern, and Michael Robles.
