Watch This: Adult Swim Smalls- Mayor Mochi

Adult Swim have been one of the biggest names in adult animation for a good couple of decades now. From Robot Chicken and Rick and Morty to recent hits like Common Side Effects, they've been home to some of the biggest adult animation series in the world. They're also behind Adult Swim Smalls, a program of shorts released on the network's YouTube channel. The shorts have been running for several years and offer a chance to new voices and fresh talent in animation. The most successful of which could maybe one day get a chance of working on an Adult Swim show.

The latest Small is part of a series called Mayor Mochi. Set in a charming mountain town named Paw Peak, where an adorable Pomeranian dog has somehow been elected mayor. This is based on the allegedly true story of real-life towns electing dogs/cats/insert random animal here to various political offices. The most famous of which was probably Mayor Max, a golden retriever who was voted in as the mayor of Idyllwild, California, defeating 14 other dogs and two cats at the ballot box.

Mochi might look like butter wouldn't melt, but as the synopsis has is "he's one mean son of a bitch". In the first episode (of three) Paw Peak is celebrating their annual mayonnaise festival. Everyone in town is keen to get their moment with Mochi except for hapless single Dad Mitch Oakdale. Mochi meanwhile isn't very keen to meet his adoring public... he's much more concerned with marking his territory.

The following two episodes will be released on YouTube on April 11 and April 18 respectively.

Mayor Mochi is created by Jared Corwin and Conor Reed. Corwin is a writer/producer based in Los Angeles. He also runs the non-profit monthly screening series Silver Lake Shorts. Reed is an animator, designer and director based in Los Angeles.
