Conan The Barbarian Stars In New Justin Rasch Stop-Motion Short
Some of the most intriguing and groundbreaking animation work produced today can be found in the world of commercials and commissioned films. Sometimes they really push the medium to new heights. And sometimes... they're just cool. Heroic Signatures the entertainment studio responsible for crafting gripping, science-fiction and fantasy stories, have premiered a new stop-motion video featuring the iconic Conan The Barbarian. The short was produced in collaboration with award-winning filmmaker, animator and life-long Conan fan Justin Rasch (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Paranorman, and Kubo and the Two Strings, etc.) to launch preorders on a new limited edition handcrafted Conan the Barbarian Battle of the Black Stone action figure.
"The new Conan the Barbarian figure is based on Rob De La Torre’s artwork from the Battle of the Black Stone comic arc, written by Jim Zub, and features premium articulation for dynamic, realistic posing, along with multiple heads, hands, armour, and weapons" Heroic Signatures say. The animated spot features the titular barbarian (in the form of the new figure) in battle with a Lovecraftian Cthulhu, showcasing "the figure’s advanced articulation, lifelike detail, and fierce weaponry in action. "
The standard edition will retail for $65. For fans willing to go that extra bit further the deluxe edition retails for $75 and adds legendary Robert E. Howard character weapons, like Solomon Kane’s staff and Brissa’s spear, housed in exclusive collector’s packaging. Preorders are open now until October 10. Once preorders close, this limited edition figure will never be available again.
The release is the first to be produced independently in-house by Heroic Signatures and marks the starts of an ambitious line of figures from the studio that will bring Conan and the larger Robert E Howard universe to life like never before.
