Scotland Loves Anime 2025 Line-up Revealed
Scotland Loves Anime is an annual festival that brings the best in new and classic Japanese animation to the big screen in Scotland- and as of last year, London. The festival has announced this year's dates, which this year run from October 31 to November 2 (Glasgow), November 7 to November 9 (London) and November 10 to November 16 (Edinburgh).
New films screening this year include All You Need Is Kill, ChaO, 100 Meters, and Angel's Egg (New 4k Restoration), Classics getting another airing on the big screen include Redline, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (4K Restoration), Escaflowne The Movie, Promare, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counter Attack, Project A-Ko and Golgo 13: The Professional. Edinburgh will also host the UK premiere of stop-motion sequel Junk World. Lupin III will be returning to the festival with the new movie The Immortal Bloodline and in the classic Lupin III: OVA Trilogy. And of course, there will be the traditional mystery film screening. What will it be this year?
The Glasgow screenings will take place at The Glasgow Film Theatre, and the London screenings will take place at Picture House Central. The Edinburgh screenings will mainly take place at the Cameo Picturehouse, with an additional screening of ChaO at Edinburgh Filmhouse, the festival's original home in the city.
ChaO director Yasuhiro Aoki will be in attendance at the Filmhouse screening of the film. Takeshi Koike director of Lupin III The Movie: The Immortal Bloodline and Redline will be at the screenings for both of his films in Glasgow on October 31. Kenichro Akimoto, director of All You Need Is Kill will be at the film's London screening on November 8.
Weekend passes for the Glasgow leg are already on sale. Tickets to individual films and passes for the other locations will go on sale soon.
