WIA Appoints Hayley Porter First Executive Director



WIA, formerly known as Women In Animation, the organisation that is dedicated to advancing women, non-binary and underrepresented groups in animation, VFX and gaming, has made a major appointment. The non-profit has announced that they have hired Hayley Porter as the organisation's first ever Executive Director.

Porter is a strategic and executive founder with more than 25 years of experience operating in a senior leadership role across the animation and entertainment industries. She advises executive teams, identifies business opportunities and strategic partnerships, and leads international marketing and PR campaigns.

Her career so far includes in-house and consulting roles with world renowned studios including Aardman, Locksmith Animation, Baobab Studios, Sunrise Productions and many more. Porter was also part of the campaign team for War Is Over! Inspired By The Music Of John and Yoko, winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short in 2024.

As WIA's first Executive Director, Porter will provide strategic leadership across WIA’s global programs and initiatives, working closely with the Board and Executive Committees to ensure strong governance and alignment. Having been part of WIA's PR and fundraising committee for almost a decade, she will now focus on WIA's international presence, strengthening industry partnerships, driving membership growth and advancing fundraising efforts.
