Original 'Ghost In The Shell' Returning to US Cinemas

Hot on the heels of the UK cinema screening later this month, and ahead of the release of the Hollywood live-action incarnation, the 1995 classic Ghost In The Shell is returning to Cinemas in the United States. Mamoru Oshii's seminal cyberpunk classic will screen for two nights only on February 7th and 8th.

The screenings are being arranged by Funimation in conjunction with Lionsgate. The film will screen in original language version on the first night, and in the dubbed version on the second. The original film will also be receiving an all new special-edition Blu-Ray collectors edition, with a steelbook featuring new artwork from Mondo on March 7th. Check out the new artwork below.


Official synopsis:
In the year 2029, cybernetic government agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of “The Puppet Master”—a mysterious and threatening computer virus is capable of infiltrating human hosts. Working closely with her fellow agents from Section 9, the Major embarks on a high-tech race against time to capture the omnipresent entity.
