Shion Takeuchi Producing Adult Comedy 'Inside Job' At Netflix Animation

Netflix's ambitious plans in animation have seen them establishing their own studio and snapping up talent left and right, both in television and film. Last year, Shion Takeuchi (former Pixar story artist and writer on Gravity Falls and Disenchantment) signed on for a multi-year deal. This week the early details of her first project have been announced.

Takeuchi will make new adult animated comedy Inside Job at Netflix Animation, and act as both showrunner and executive producer. The show is a workplace comedy "set in the shadow government, where every conspiracy theory — from the Illuminati to Reptoids — is true, and one woman struggles to keep the chaos under wraps." Sounds like a fun concept!

There will be 20 episodes at first (likely to be released as two "seasons" if past experience is anything to go by) but of course, there may be more if it proves a success. Takeuchi's fellow Gravity Falls alum Alex Hirsch is also on board as co-executive producer on the project. Hirsch had previously signed his own deal with the company to produce both films and series. We look forward to hearing more about his projects too!.

Inside Job joins an ever-expanding and impressive line-up of animation being produced at the Studio, including new projects by Jorge Guiterrez, Glen Keane, Henry Selick and Nora Twomey.
