Crunchyroll and Viz Bring 5 New Titles To Home Video

Streaming has truly become the dominant way that anime (like much of media today) is consumed. But there's still a hardcore of fans who prefer to get their Japanese animation like fans always did, through home video. Whether it's because they don't like streaming or because they like to collect their favorite shows or films. Unlike some of its rivals in the field, anime streaming site Crunchyroll doesn't have a home video label of its own, so for the titles it controls the rights to, they have had to partner with other companies to release titles on Blu-Ray or DVD. Previously this deal was with Funimation, but after the original Funimation/Crunchyroll pact ended, Crunchyroll has signed a new distribution deal with Viz.

The two companies have this week announced five titles that they will be bringing to home entertainment for the first time, including three from their Crunchyroll Originals line. Check out the details of all five, below,

Burn The Witch A three-episode mini-series from Tite Kubo, creator of Bleach, set in "Reverse London".

Historically 72% of all the deaths in London are related to dragons, fantastical beings invisible to the majority of the people. While unknown to most, some people have been standing up to these dragons. Only inhabitants of Reverse London who live in the hidden “reverse” side of London can see the dragons. The protagonists of the story are witch duo Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole. They are protection agents for Wing Bind. Their mission is to protect and manage the dragons within London on behalf of the people.

In/Spectre The god of wisdom and the teen boy she fell for team up to solve mysteries in this supernatural romance mystery from Crunchyroll Originals.

Iwanaga Kotoko became the god of wisdom to the supernatural beings and spends her days solving problems for them. However, the boy who she fell head over heels for, Sakuragawa Kuro, is someone that is feared by all supernatural creatures. The two of them face various mysterious incidents involving the supernatural in this love x romance x mystery series. Where will these fantastical incidents lead them and what will happen with Kotoko’s crush?

From then on, he shares one body with the Double-Faced Specter. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to the Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the Curses... and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a Curse to exorcise a Curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
