'Chuck Steel: Night Of The Trampires' Stop-Motion Action Movie Hits UK Cinemas This October

The words "stop-motion" and "action movie" are rarely seen together. Unsurprising really, because the challenge of making action set-pieces in stop-motion would put most people off. You'd have to be pretty. crazy, right?  The crew at Animortal are just crazy enough to do it... and we're damn pleased they did.

We first reported on Chuck Steel: Night Of The Trampires way back in 2016. The UK-made film is a feature-length follow-up to Chuck Steel: Raging Steel Balls Of Justice. Chuck is a pitch-perfect spoof of 80's action movies, starring (of course) a cop on the edge that doesn't play by the rules. After parodying 80s action in the short, creator/director Mike Mort started work on a sequel that adds a supernatural twist.

Night Of The Trampires is a fully independent British film that was produced at the Animortal Studios in the slightly unlikely location of Bridgend, Wales. The voice cast includes British comedy legends Paul Whitehouse and Jennifer Saunders, as well as Mort himself.

The film has been a long time coming, but we finally have a release date. Chuck Steel: Night Of The Trampires will be released in UK cinemas on October, 29, just in time for Halloween!

A new trailer has been released and showcases outrageous action, hilarious parody and plenty of gory violence and salty language (earning it a 15 certificate from the BBFC) not to mention phenomenal animation.

No word on the release in the US or elsewhere outside of the UK just yet.

It’s not 1985 anymore…it’s 1986, and Chuck Steel is ‘the best God damn cop on the force.’ But even this maverick, renegade, loose-cannon, lone wolf, cop on the edge, who doesn’t play by the rules, has his work cut out when he discovers an evil is about to descend on the city of Los Angeles: the scourge of the TRAMPIRES – mutant hybrids of vampire and tramp!
