Adult Swim Order New Episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force

There can be few more unlikely successes in adult animation than Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Against the odds, it ran for 11 seasons between 2002 and 2015. Not bad going for a crudely animated series about a bunch of talking foodstuffs.

The series returned late last year in a new movie Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm. Now Adult Swim have ordered a 12th season of five episodes from original creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro. "We are thrilled to be making more Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes for a new generation of fans, building upon the most impressive collection of IP ever assembled. Success is optimal and leads to quality,” said Willis and Maiellaro.

The news follows the release of the digital series Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Aquadonk Side Pieces on YouTube last year.

In the meantime Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm will debut on HBO Max on February 8 and screen on Adult Swim on March 12 at midnight.

In Plantasm Frylock, Master Shake, Meatwad and their neighbour Carl return to battle the evil corporation Amazin (We're sure that any resemblance to any real world companies is purely coincidental).

The movie stars Carey Means (Frylock), Dana Snyder (Master Shake) and Dave Willlis (Meatwad). Joining the cast are Peter Serafinowicz as Amazin's CEO Neil and Paul Walter Hauser as his sidekick Elmer. It was written and directed by Willis and Maiellaro and produced by Williams Street Productions
