Disenchantment's Final Season Arrives This September

Matt Groening
is easily one of the biggest names in animation. Creator of The Simpsons and the recently resurrected Futurama, his impact is massive. His third show Disenchantment doesn't have quite the same following or acclaim his earlier series did, but it does have its fans. And those fans will be delighted the series is returning for a fifth season. Although this is tempered somewhat by the fact that Netflix have announced that this will be the final season.

The new trailer starts off with a recap of the story so far (the last season aired in February 2022). It follows Princess Bean's journey from nearly being married off to a hopeless prince to an adventure that took her to the ends of the earth and even to hell itself.

It also looks ahead to part V, where Bean will face a final confrontation with her evil mother, Dagmar. But can she find her happily ever after?

Disenchantment first aired in 2018 and was created by Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein. It was animated by Rough Draft Studios for Netflix. It stars Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, David Herman, Maurice LaMarche, Billy West, Tress MacNeille, Matt Berry, Rich Fulcher, Sharon Horgan and Noel Fielding.

Part V will be available streaming on Netflix from September 1, 2023.
