Rick And Morty Season 7 Arrives This October

Fans of Rick And Morty are used to waiting a long time between seasons. They became accustomed to gaps lasting as long as 18 months or even two full years. But since the producers signed the massive deal with Adult Swim to produce 70 episodes it seems this may be a thing of the past. We now seem to be getting a new season of the show every year, and the air date for season seven has just been revealed.

The hit adult animated comedy will premiere its first new episode from Sunday, October 15 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Simultaneously, the new season will debut in over 134 countries in 38 languages. In the US, new episodes will be available to buy from digital retailers the day after broadcast. The seventh season will be available to stream on Max in 2024.

Rick and Morty is the #1 comedy on cable (not just animated comedy) and has been since season three. It has spun off a successful line of comics, video games and virtual reality experiences, and a multiverse of merchandise. The series reached 19 million viewers in linear broadcasting in 2022 and is a top streaming title on Max. The series has won two Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program and is currently nominated for a third.

“It’s happening,” said Michael Ouweleen, Adult Swim President. "Thanks to the talent of the entire show team, we can all enjoy 10 new episodes that yet again raise the bar for comedy and animation. This season proves that the geniuses at work on ‘Rick and Morty’ are just getting started.”"

This series is going to be a bit different either way as its the first season to be released since co-creator and original voice of Rick and Morty Justin Roiland was fired. The producers are keeping schtum about who will be taking over the voice roles, but have made a nod to it in the synopsis, stating "Rick and Morty are sounding more like themselves than ever". It goes on: "what's up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There's probably less piss than last season. “Rick and Morty,” 100 years! Or at least until season 10!"

If you want to get caught up before the new season airs then Rick and Morty seasons one to six are available streaming on Max in the US and on Netflix and Channel 4 in the UK
