'Merry Little Batman' Teaser Trailer Is Here To Save Christmas

We hate to use the C word so early... but Christmas is coming. And that means Christmas Specials. A new one for this year has a most unlikely star. Get ready for Merry Little Batman. You've guessed right, it's a festive special featuring the Dark Knight!

Long before the current Coyote vs Acme controversy Warner Bros Discovery tried to save money by pulling the plug on several of the projects it had commissioned. Merry Little Batman was among the ill-fated productions. The dropped series and specials were subsequently shopped around to other networks and streamers. Ultimately Amazon picked up Merry Little Batman as well as the Caped Crusader series from Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams.

Merry Little Batman promises to show us a Batman like we've never seen before. And not just because of the cartoony decidedly un-DC-like artstyle. It shows us a Bruce Wayne who is a doting Dad to son Damian, resisting his pleas to let him follow in his footsteps. But when Batman is called out of town on Justice League business The Joker and his fellow villains try to ruin Christmas. Damian decides its up to him to don the cowl and save the day.

Merry Little Batman is directed by Mike Roth and written by Morgan Evans and Jase Ricci. It stars Luke Wilson, Yonas Kibreab, James Cromwell, and David Hornsby. Music is by Patrick Stump.

This looks like it's going to be a heap of fun for Batman fans- or at least those with a sense of humour. A Batman holiday special might not be something you thought you needed in your life, but the teaser trailer might change your mind.

Merry Little Batman will stream globally on Amazon Prime Video on December 8.
