King Of The Hill Season 14 Trailer Drops
A big trend in the streaming age is reviving beloved series from the past. The next big show set to make a streaming comeback is King Of The Hill. Mike Judge and Greg Daniel's big-hearted Texan sitcom is returning for a 14th season, some 15 years after it last graced our screens.
The new series picks up several years after we last saw the Hill family. Hank Hill and Peggy Hill return to their hometown of Arlen, after several years working in Saudi Arabia. They find the town (and the world) has changed, son Bobby is now 21 and living his best life as a chef in Dallas.
Along with the release of the new trailer and key art, it has been announced that comedic actor Ronny Chieng is joining the cast as Kahn Souphanousinphone. Chieng is taking over from Toby Huss, who will now be stepping into the role of Dale Gribble, replacing the late Johnny Hardwick.
Kahn is Hank's Laotian neighbour, who lives with his wife Minh (voiced by Lauren Tom). Kahn is arrogant and has maintained his superiority over his fellow Arlen residents. He's also ultra-competitive and often butts heads with Hank as he attempts to "win" at life. He loves his daughter Connie, but thinks she's too good to be associating with Bobby Hill.
The 14th season features the voices of Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. The series is co-created and executive-produced by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels as well as incoming executive producer and new showrunner Saladin Patterson. 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein, Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by 20th Century Animation.
Series Synopsis: Set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, the original series followed the life of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic seller of propane and propane accessories; his wife, Peggy, local Boggle champ and substitute teacher; and their son, Bobby, who defied any expectation his father had for a son. Hank’s friends – conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill, and cool but inarticulate Boomhauer, along with Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy, and Bobby’s friend Connie helped the Hills navigate a changing world.
The trailer promises more of the King Of The Hill we know all love, only with a now-adult Bobby and a Hank and Peggy with a few more wrinkles. Hank and Peggy struggle with the foibles of the modern world, including things like Ubers, gender-netural bathrooms, Zoom calls and IPAs. Check out the trailer, below.
King Of The Hill season 14 will be 10 episodes long and will be available from August 4 on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally.
