Channing Tatum, Rebecca Wong Join Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Dub

Stunt casting is a well established practice in animation. Stretching back to Robin Williams in Aladdin, getting a recognisable voice in your cast is a common marketing technique. It's less common in anime, but not unheard of. The Studio Ghibli dubs all feature established names, as do other high profile movies such as Mirai. Now it's been announced that a big name is joining the biggest anime movie of the year.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle is the latest film in the Demon Slayer franchise. It is the first part in a trilogy of features that will bring the story to an end. The film is currently breaking records in Japan and will be released in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland on September 12.

Joining the returning cast from the TV series and previous movies will be 21 Jump Street star Channing Tatum. Tatum is described as a "superfan" of the anime series. Also joining the cast will be Rebecca Wang (Solo Leveling).

The cast reprising their roles include Zach Aguilar as protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, Abby Trott as Nezuko Kamado, Aleks Le as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Bryce Papenbrook as Inosuke Hashibira, Johnny Yong Bosch as Giyu Tomikoa, and Erika Harlacher as Shinobu Kocho. Channing Tatum will join the cast as new character Keizo, with Rebecca Wang playing Koyuki.

“We are thrilled to welcome back the beloved English voice cast reprising their roles for Infinity Castle,” said Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President of Global Commerce. “Their iconic voices have greatly contributed to the admiration of the characters and popularity of the franchise. And, we are excited to welcome Channing Tatum, who discovered his love of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and anime through watching the series with his daughter, along with Rebecca Wang as the English voices of Keizo and Koyuki.”

The stage is set for the final showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
