'The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles' Passes 200,000 Registrations
When an anime series reaches a certain level of popularity, it is all but guaranteed to get a video game spin-off. Series like Naruto, My Hero Academia, One Piece and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba have multiple game adaptations. One recent series to find success is The Apothecary Diaries, which recently won several awards at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including Best Drama and Best Main Character. Now, it's due to get its first official game.
The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles has just surpassed 200,000 online pre-registrations. To celebrate, all players will receive the character of Xiaolan at launch, a brand-new festival visual of Maomao has been unveiled.
The title is published by CTW on G123, Japan's leading web browser game service, that specialises in free-to-play high quality no-download anime titles playable instantly across mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.
The anime is going from strength to strength, with a third season and the franchise's first ever movie both scheduled for later in 2026. Originating as a light novel series, the story is set in a fictional country inspired by China in the Tang Dynasty. It follows Maomao, a young girl trained in medicine by her apothecary father. After being sold as a servant to the Emperor's Palace, she secretly uses her apothecary skills to solve mysteries and help those in need.
