OIAF Announces 2016 Animated Feature Competition Line-Up

This September sees the 40th anniversary of one of North America's longest established animation festivals, the Ottawa International Animation Festival. Ahead of this year's event, the line-up of animated features screening in competition has just been announced.

Competing for the Grand Prize this year: Louise En Hiver- a French 2D feature from past grand prize winner Jean-Francois Laguionie,  Anne Marie Fleming's crowdfunded curiosity Window Horses, and Canadian CG family film La Guerre des Tuques (aka Snowtime) from Jean-François Pouliot and François Brisson.

Also screening is the mixed-media mock documentary NUTS! from American director Penny Lane, dark Word War 1 set tale Cafard; Titmouse Animation's adult feature Nerdland and the fascinating sounding Spanish feature  Psiconautas: The Forgotten Children, fresh from its Annecy success.

The 2016 festival runs between September 21st and 25th, and to celebrate the festival's landmark 40th year, will be screening every past Grand Prize winner, spread across 6 different showcase events. OIAF will, as always also feature various programs of shorts, screenings, workshops and other animation events.
