Manga UK announces DBZ: Battle Of Gods, Bayonetta, Captain Harlock and More

Last weekend saw the MCM Manchester Comic Con and the UK's biggest anime distributor Manga made a number of announcements at their panel. The biggest of these was the announcement that they have obtained the UK rights to the new Dragon Ball Z movie: Battle Of Gods. As with the US release, it will have a short cinema release (including a screening at Scotland Loves Anime) before a Blu-ray and DVD release on December 10th. Next up they announced they had acquired Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, the anime adaptation of the videogame from Platinum Games, for a 24th November release on Blu-ray and DVD.

Release details were also confirmed for the upcoming Ghost In The Shell: Arise, the newest incarnation of the classic cyber-punk franchise. Originally released as a series of theatrical shorts (around 50 minutes each) the first two episodes will be released on a two-disc set on November 24th.

They also announced that they have acquired the rights to the new movie Space Pirate Captain Harlock. A CGI adaptation of the classic 70's manga from Leiji Matsumoto, the film is due to hit Netflix on August 1st. Manga have nabbed the Blu-ray and DVD rights, for an early 2015 release.
