Manchester Animation Festival Hosts 'Off The Leash' Creators In Conversation

Next week will see the second iteration of The Manchester Animation Festival (MAF),  one of the biggest dedicated animation events in the UK. The festival will run from November 14-16 at Home, and will feature a range of events and screenings related to animation of all kinds. Many events have already sold out, but among those still available is an event related to the hit Youtube series, Off The Leash.

Off The Leash started life as a popular comic blog for dog lovers, before being turned into a series of animated shorts by the UK animated studio Factory. The event will feature original creator Rupert Fawcett and Factory MD Phil Chalk in conversation, discussing the creative process in bringing the cartoons to life through animation.

The event will take place on Friday 16th at 13:45 at Home's Cinema 2. Factory will then host MAF's first ever closing party at The Refuge.

"We’re delighted to be able to give an insight into the expertise and process in creating Off The Leash." Phil Chalk said. "We’ve had so much fun working on the episodes – there’s some hilarious goings on and it's been a real move forward into our ambition to create more of our own content. Sponsoring the wider festival and hosting Manchester Animation Festival’s first closing party is a terrific step for us all."

Ruper Fawcett adds "It has been such a privilege to work alongside Phil Chalk and the amazing team at Factory to bring my beloved doggy sketches to life. The cartoons are very close to my heart, and I’m really looking forward to chatting with Phil and letting festival goers in on the development of the series."
