Wendell and Wild's Full Trailer Creeps Online

Spooky season is here again. And what better way to celebrate Halloween than with a new film from the man behind Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas? Stop motion master Henry Selick is making his triumphant return with Wendell and Wild.

It's been a long wait since we last saw a film from Selick (with Coraline way back in 2009),  which just makes this feel that extra bit special. As does the fact that Selick has found a new creative partner in the form of comedian turned acclaimed film-maker Jordan Peele (Get Out, Nope). Peele not only worked on the screenplay with Selick but also provides the voice of the titular demon Wild, alongside his erstwhile double-act partner Keegan-Michael Key as Wendell.

Ahead of the US premiere of the film at Animation Is Film Festival, Netflix have released the new full trailer.

Building on the earlier teaser trailer the new trailer creates a brilliantly spooky atmosphere. We get to meet lead Kat, green-haired teen and "Hell Maiden". We also get to meet Wendell and Wild themselves, the self-described "mortician magicians" and "the artistes of the afterlife". The plot will see the demonic duo convince the girl to summon them to the land of the living. But they are not prepared for what she demands from them in return.

The voice cast includes Lyric Ross as Kat, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Sam Zelaya, Tamara Smart, Seema Virdi, Ving Rhames, David Harewood and Maxine Peake.

The trailer also includes reanimated corpses, demons, nuns and one very cute goat. All in all, this is looking to be another (trick or) treat from Selick.

Wendell and Wild will be released in select cinemas from October 21, before streaming on Netflix everywhere from October 28.
